Course description
Is the Wageningen PhD programme future-proof, or do we need to better align it with current developments in the Dutch and international university landscape? And if we need to realign with current and future developments, what would be the best way to do this? These were issues discussed in the Wageningen Graduate Schools (WGS) in 2024. WGS therefore decided to organise a series of workshops in each of the graduate schools in 2024 and 2025. In 2025 and 2026, the Wageningen Graduate Schools will continue with a new set of workshops ‘Time for change: towards a healthier PhD programme’ that will build on the results of the first set of workshops.
This second workshop is an opportunity to explore the expectations and demands of the PhD programme and to reflect on how we can strengthen it for the future.
Building on the results of the first series of workshops, we hope to jointly generate fresh ideas and explore new possibilities to address the key issues of high workload and delayed completion. No prior participation is required, just bring your enthusiasm for supervising PhD candidates and your curiosity about improving the PhD journey.
