Career assessment

Course schedule

This course is not scheduled yet.

Course description

There is a new format for the Career assessment as of 1 January 2024, for information see Wageningen Graduate Schools Courses (wur.nl)

In the last stages of your PhD, it is time to broaden your professional horizon. What is your next career move after finishing my PhD? Do you want to stay in academia or take the step to corporate life? Which competences do you need (to develop) to succeed in your current and/or future job? How can you reach your career goals in a more effective way?

A Career Assessment can assist you in answering these questions. It consists of different questionnaires that measure skills, competences, strengths and weaknesses, career values and team roles.
A career coach will give personal advice, based on the results of these tests. The career assessment also provides the opportunity to start working on a (career) action plan.
Depending on the results, candidates can be advised to follow certain training or workshop that will help in improving necessary skills, or attend personal coaching sessions.

This Career Assessment is also part of the course Career Perspectives, so if you would like to follow this course, you do not have to take this assessment separately.

For PhD candidates that have already taken the assessment at the start of their PhD, the results of this assessment will also be taken into account in the career assessment. The assessment coach will look into progress made on points of attention that were mentioned in the first assessment.
