InDesign is part of the “Creative Cloud” which lets you combine photos/graphics/ illustrations, tables, charts and text with a remarkable ease. It is extensively used because of its integration with other Adobe applications such as Photoshop and Illustrator. Therefore the knowledge of all three programs is highly recommended so consider subscribing for the courses Photoshop and Illustrator.

With the completion of this course you will be able to:
Understand the main functionality and structure of the program
Navigate through the different functions
Create and save new documents
Define “Master Pages” and understand their powerful use
Place and format your text with the use of toolboxes
Import, create and format tables, figures, illustrations and charts
Build large and complex documents such as a PhD thesis with various elements (photos, figures, tables, etc)
Design attractive and functional posters
Create professional layouts for your CV or motivation letter
Export problem-free PDFs according to the specifications of the printer
Understand the importance of typography.
During these two days we will dive in to real design challenges so you can practice the theory. If you have a challenge you want to share with the group feel free to send an email to email@example.com before the beginning of the course. You will be provided with a manual of the theory and hand-outs of the presentation.
• PhD candidates of Wageningen University with an approved Training and Supervision Plan (TSP) who are registered at one of the WU graduate schools (EPS, PE&RC, VLAG, WASS, WIAS, WIMEK)
• Postdocs of Wageningen University who are registered at one of the WU graduate schools

Fee includes study and training material, coffee/tea and lunches.
You may cancel free of charge up to four weeks before the start of the course. After this date you will be charged the University fee. Unless:
- You can find someone to replace you in the course and supply the course coordinator with the name and contact information of your replacement.
In this case you will only be charged a € 50,- cancellation fee.
- You (PhDs and postdocs of Wageningen University) have a valid reason to cancel (illness or death in the family 1st or 2nd degree).
In this case you will be charged the reduced fee and your supervisor/PI must send a mail indicating the reason for cancellation.
